Should the wife be divorced or a widower, a proof of such status must be submitted. If the divorce is pronounced by a court's judgment, a statement that the judgment is not subject to appeal and the lapse of the period of appeal must be submitted. If the judgment is issued by the Court of Appeal, a statement that it is not subject to cassation issued by the Court of Cassation and the lapse of the legal period should be attached.

If the wife is Muslim and her legal tutor is non-Muslim, a letter from the competent Consulate of non-objection to marriage must be brought with statement of the social status of the wife. It must be ratified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with its legal translation to the Arabic language. Such translation must be sealed by the Ministry of Justice.

If the wife is a Christian or Jewish, residing in Dubai Emirates, the attendance of her legal tutor is required, or a proxy in which she delegates a man of the same religion to marrying her.
